Low Buck is a project Kevin started to show interested builders just how much time, and how
little money it takes to look this good. In this build, Kevin shows most steps needed to perform the work yourself and the hours
to perform each task. Most parts are bought from the usual shops and occasional trips to the wrecking yard.
The vehicle: 1970 Custom Sport Truck (CST), Long Wheel Base (LWB), Crate GM350 auto, power steering (PS), power brakes (PB), A/C,
disk and rear leafs.
The Build -
2 wheel drive short bed tow vehicle with:
- Modified ride height: put in front end drop spindles and lowered springs, keep the leaf springs in the rear, complete an axel
flip kit, C-notch the frame, and add set of over-load bags.
- Shorten the fleet-side bed and frame
- Rust replacement, body work and paint
Along with the truck came some hand-me-down parts: new stock mirrors, license plate bracket and light, gravel guards, steering box, new
rear bumper bracket and bolts, and two new rotors.
